What Makes a Good Review

When submitting your review, you can be as detailed or brief as you'd like. Here are some examples to include if you can:

  • Overall experience with chefs and their willingness to accommodate your gluten-free diet.
  • Were there gluten-free items on the menu, or did the chef need to tailor existing menu items to make them gluten-free?
  • Favorite menu items you’d recommend — and those you wouldn’t.
  • Overall impressions of the restaurant, hotel, or resort including ambience of restaurant, comfort of rooms, courtesy of staff, cleanliness, amenities, activities, etc.

Rating Guidelines

One PalmNot a place to safely eat gluten-free...unless you want to bring all your own food!

Two PalmsLots of work required (educating chefs, asking to read labels, etc.). If this is a hotel, resort, or cruise, you'll need to take some of your own food to eat during your stay or have it sent to the hotel or resort ahead of time.

Three PalmsNot a bad experience, but not the best either. Chefs were eager to please but still only moderately knowledgeable about gluten-free food preparation. You can make it work, but it will require patience.

Four PalmsAn overall good experience. Kitchen staff is well-versed in gluten-free food preparation and can prepare a nice range of tasty options. A bit of vigilance on your part is still suggested, however.

Five PalmsA top-notch place for safe and delicious gluten-free dining. The chefs will have wonderful options for you, and some even have special gluten-free menus.

All gluten-free dining and travel reviews will be automatically submitted for our Featured Review of the Month contest.
